And the losses just continue to mount for the Baltimore Orioles, the once proud franchise that’s become arguably baseball’s worst team.

In one of the more embarrassing exhibition games in recent memory, the Orioles lost to State College of Florida, a community college, on Wednesday, by the score of 2 to 1. This comes in spite of the fact that Baltimore played several of its regulars including J.J. Hardy, Adam Jones, Matt Wieters, and Jason Hammel.
And apparently the news did not sit well with Commissioner Bud Selig.
“I don’t care if they (State College of Florida) borrowed a pitcher and a catcher from the Orioles,” vented Selig following the loss. “They’re a college team, and we…we’re Major League Baseball! Unacceptable. Simply, unacceptable.”
And now word has come down from the Commissioner’s Office that the organization will be punished for what the league termed as “a lackluster effort.”
The Baltimore Orioles will be forced to wear the 1975 Houston Atros uniform, which are often cited as the ugliest uniform in the history of mankind.
According to an unnamed executive with close knowledge to the situation, “Selig said if they want to play like a bunch of clowns then we’ll dress them like a bunch of clowns.”
The exact date, or dates, for the uniform’s reappearance has not been set yet.
This is a satirical news story with just a dash of actual facts. I know it’s probably unnecessary to state this given the content. But you never know. You. Just. Never. Know.
